SONATA (i) [2021]
Commissioned by The University of Oxford, and first performed by Amalia Young, on the 1st December 2021, in the Holywell Music Room, Oxford.
This Sonata movement began its life under the title 'A'arhiyib' - a dialect word for 'Dragon Blood Tree'; this dialect is spoken on the island of Socotra, off the coast of Yemen, where the tree can be found.

It is intended that further movements will be written for this Sonata.
